Jurisdictions reported 60,784 persons taking the bar examination in 2020, with an overall pass rate of 61%. The overall pass rate for the 19,409 February 2020 exam takers reported by jurisdictions was 41%; the overall pass rate for the 41,375 July 2020 exam takers reported by jurisdictions was 71%. In 2020, 4% of examinees were graduates of non-ABA-approved law schools, with a pass rate of 24%; 9% of examinees were graduates of law schools outside the USA, with a pass rate of 38%.
