On December 10, 2019, NCBE hosted a seminar for new bar admission administrators at its Madison headquarters. The goal of the seminar was to familiarize new bar admission administrators with the resources and services offered by NCBE.

Topics covered:

  • Introduction to the Council of Bar Admission Administrators (CBAA)
  • Current issues in character & fitness
  • NCBE investigative services
  • Information technology services for jurisdictions
  • Scoring, grading, and basics of measurement
  • NCBE publications and websites
  • NCBE meetings and educational offerings
  • Test administration and security
  • Basic information about the three components of most bar examinations: the Multistate Bar Examination (MBE), the Multistate Essay Examination (MEE), and the Multistate Performance Test (MPT)
  • Exam ordering and score services
  • Nonstandard testing materials (such as large-print booklets and Braille versions, for examinees requesting ADA accommodations)
  • Accommodations and the Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE)
  • Activities of the NCBE Testing Task Force

The program concluded with a Q&A session and discussion.
