Percentages of first-time exam takers versus repeaters from ABA-approved law schools:

  • February 2017: First-timers = 42%; repeaters = 58%
  • July 2017: First-timers = 81%; repeaters = 19%

First-time exam takers are defined as examinees taking the bar examination for the first time in the reporting jurisdiction.
Repeaters are defined as examinees who have taken the bar examination in the reporting jurisdiction at least once prior to the listed administration.
